Tracking Our CEO at CES

We used Golioth Location to build an application that keeps up with Golioth CEO Jonathan Beri at CES 2025.

Golioth Location Private Access

Today we are launching Golioth Location in private access. This service offers network positioning functionality, allowing devices to leverage the same radios (e.g. cellular and Wi-Fi) used for communicating with Golioth to obtain location information. Doing so may extend battery life, reduce hardware costs, and enable more rapid acquisition of a device’s position.

You Might Not Need GNSS

Not every device needs GNSS support in order to obtain location data. Golioth Pipelines enable determining device position without changing hardware or firmware by leveraging location service platforms.

A $2 Geofence: Wi-Fi Location (Here.com), ESP32-C3, Golioth Pipelines, and n8n

We paired Wi-Fi locationing, low cost hardware, Golioth Pipelines, and n8n (an API workflow tool) to create a "geofence". This is a simple way to provide alerts (or any other actions) when an IoT device goes outside of a defined physical location.

How to localize your devices with GNSS, NMEA, and Zephyr

Guest author Jerónimo Agulló goes over the basics of GNSS and how the NMEA0183 set of messages standardizes communication between geolocation modules and microcontrollers. Then he shows how a new system in Zephyr makes it easier than ever to set up communication.
